Islamic games and audiobooks for learning to read

3 titles · Ages 4-9

These are the Miraj games and audiobooks that help Muslim children aged 4 to 9 learn to read, from their first Arabic letters to their first words of the Qur'an.

How do Miraj titles help children learn to read?

Reading starts with letters and their sounds. These titles let young children trace, hear and match the 28 letters of the Arabic alphabet, then join them into words, one short step at a time. Some also practise the English alphabet with Islamic words along the way, so children build both at once.

The games have no timers and no scores, so a child can take their time and try again after a mistake. The audiobooks walk children through the letters in short chapters they can come back to the next day, until they reach Surah Al-Fatiha.

Each page tells you the skills your child practises, how long a round or chapter takes and the ages it suits.

Key lessons children take from these games and audiobooks

  • The Qur'an is Allah's words, and learning to read it is a gift.
  • The Qur'an is written in Arabic letters.
  • The words of our faith are part of our everyday words.

Frequently asked questions

When should my child start learning the Arabic alphabet?

Many children start around age 4. The games here begin with single letters and their sounds, so they suit beginners.

Do these titles teach the Qur'an?

They teach the letters and first words that lead to reading the Qur'an. They do not replace a teacher, but they are good practice at home.
